I have 4 options
1. Do nothing and become Active aware
2. Surgery: Radical Prostatectomy
3. External Beam Radiotherapy
4. Permanent Seed Brachytherapy
1. Do nothing and become Active Aware
Have regular checkups and blood tests every 3 months and keep a close eye on the Cancer
2. Surgery: Radical Prostatectomy
Yes as bad as it sounds, total removal of the Prostate Gland and some not so pleasant side effects, permanent Erectile Dysfunction, Incontinence, …….
3. External Beam Radiotherapy
Not quite as bad as number 2, but no surgery and a few side effects
4. Permanent Seed Brachytherapy
Insertion of Radioactive pellets into my prostate, very active for up to 3 months will hopefully kill the cancer cells from the inside, new healthy cells will replace the Cancer cells
after 10 months the pellets will have very little Radioactivity and will stay in the body, a lot less side effects
2 Hospital appointments booked with a Urological Surgeon and an Oncologist for next week
